Roberts Jackson Join the Manchester Food Bank Drive This Christmas

Two Roberts Jackson employees have brought the Manchester Food Bank to the firm’s attention this Christmas. Amy Kennedy and Christina Rees set up food bank donation boxes across the office in order to encourage staff to donate food for families in crisis and the less fortunate across Manchester.

This is the first year RJ staff have got involved with the Manchester Food Bank drive and the support is needed more than ever with many food banks being forced to shut down due to poor donations.

The Manchester Food Bank says “it works with nearly 100 organisations, community projects, support agencies and professional advice services who help, advise and support people with a variety of different crisis situations. We have a great team of volunteers who are a listening ear and can help signpost you to an agency to get help, support and advice.”

Roberts Jacksons Food Bank donations were handed in on Friday 20th November, just in time for Christmas and donated a whopping 161kg worth of food. We would like to thank Manchester Central food bank for all their continued efforts and giving families and the less fortunate an invaluable life line.

Families looking to visit the Food Bank this year are encouraged to seek advice about their crisis or financial situation in order to receive a ticket to visit one of the donation centres. More details about how locate your nearest food bank and how to receive a ticket can be found on the official Central Manchester Food Bank website here . Each ticket exchanged is worth three days of emergency food so it is vital that people know where to turn in order to receive one.

Recent charity efforts by Roberts Jackson have raised over £1,200 [1] for the MINGA foundation which we have been supporting for a number of years. This year Roberts Jackson has sponsored charity raffles, pumpkin carving competitions, bake sales and a great British Bake off competition for Red Nose Day as we continue to raise as much money as we can to help others.
