Roberts Jackson Settles £18,000 for Clients Repetitive Strain Injury
Roberts Jackson Solicitors have recently settled one of our clients Repetitive Strain Injury cases for the sum of £18,000. The permanent condition has been caused through the claimants work as a joiner.
Our client was employed as a joiner at a design and build company that specialise in the manufacture of street furniture. He commenced his employment in 2007 and in 2008, put his employer on notice about his condition, blaming poor ergonomic conditions at his work station. The client’s condition was not aided by the long hours he used to work, sometimes totalling 80 hours a week.
In 2008 an ergonomic assessment on the claimants work station revealed a breach of duty by his employer and shortly after our client got in touch with Roberts Jackson Solicitors. It was established that the condition was unilateral, only effecting one arm but detrimental to the claimants livelihood and ability to perform his job to the best of his ability.
The claimant was paid out £18,000 for loss of potential earnings, permanent pain and suffering and restricted arm movements. For our client no amount of money can ever give him the quality of life he once had but he is happy that the matter has been brought to a successful conclusion with the responsible party being brought to justice.
