Director of Strategy & Growth
Oliver has twenty years experience as corporate solicitor. He was in private practice both at Davies Arnold Cooper (now DAC Beachcroft LLP) in Manchester, and at SJ Berwin in London, and whilst in London, Oliver was also an in-house lawyer at Benfield Group PLC (now Aon Benfield and now arguably the world's leading reinsurance intermediary and full-service capital advisor). Upon his return to Manchester, Oliver was a Partner at William H. Lill and Co Solicitors. Over the years Oliver has undertaken a number of business ventures and he is business focused. One of his key responsibilities at Roberts Jackson is to look over the business, analyse strategy, and plan and manage growth. Karen and Oliver make all key decisions quickly and effectively together.
Oliver is primarily responsible for considering growth, new teams, and continuing the development of the Firm as a whole, as well as considering and trying to capitalise on all the legal and political changes on the horizon. He regularly contacts the Ministry of Justice/Government in this respect concerning any relevant policy developments.
Oliver has personally built a property portfolio worth at its peak in excess of £8m, and throughout his legal career he has acted on joint ventures, acquisitions and takeovers, and stock exchange listings. For example, whilst at the Benfield Group, Oliver worked in association with Morgan Stanley on the £500m reverse takeover of a US listed Insurance broker, E.W. Blanch, and went on to prepare the newco for listing on the London Stock Exchange.
Oliver is Co Director of Roberts Jackson, in charge of strategy and growth.
